My life underwent a significant shift because of Toastmasters. As a person who was not clear with my message, I often appeared confident. The Millennium Toastmasters Club helped me overcome this through continuous feedback. In the long run, this shifted the mindset with which I approached things.

Normally, one would fear reaching out to senior positions in other companies due to the fear of rejection. However, through Toastmasters, I learned to handle rejection and turn it into an opportunity for success.

I’m an introvert, soft-spoken, and usually wait for another person to take the lead in a conversation. However, after my journey in Toastmasters, everything has changed. This has greatly benefited me in my profession. I am currently the Chief Executive Officer at Quelle Electrik Pvt Ltd, specializing in supplying electrical items to electrical contractors. What sets us apart is that we not only supply but also educate on how these items need to be installed or used. This education and communication process make it as simple and clear as possible, understood by any hierarchy within the company. Additionally, we actively listen to understand their current problems and needs. These exercises would not have been possible without Toastmasters.

Toastmasters, in simple terms, is a home for change, whether in personal life, corporate life, or family life. People who join not only build their confidence to face an audience but also learn to manage all aspects of their lives and take steps forward from where they are. I am grateful to be in Sri Lanka and to Mr. Ramanan for introducing me to this beautiful organization that has given me a 180-degree shift.
